Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
It sort of breaks up the clean lines of the coupe.
Leading evidence: 'Clean lines of the coupe' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean lines of the coupe' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Also, if you changed from stock to Fabspeed mufflers, you'd save about 40 of that 100 lb difference!

I should have used those numbers but either way, it's really the same net result.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know it's kind of a silly comparison but I like to have something a little different than the standard Carrera (even though the standard Carrera is still a beautiful car).
In any case, what would you guys get: The Targa or a Coupe with the factory aero package? Pricing is about the same for these two choices since the factory aero package is about $8k.
Thanks for your opinions.
I have been thinking about upgrading to a 996 recently from my 993 Targa and think the new targa is real nice. The car is tight and very unique. For reference- the dealer near my house only has one, but has about 10 turbos and 20+ coupes. I like the aero kit but I think it is way overpriced. I would much prefer a Targa with a turbo style front and rear euro bumpers.
Good luck.
Thanks for the responses guys...looks like one vote for the aero and one for the targa.
I love them both but I do like the extra exclusivity of the targa (not too many out there) but I also like the lighter weight of the coupe with the aero. Decisions, decisions.
True the aerokit is overpriced but it looks so sweet!
Anyone else?

The difference is about 55Kg or 120 Lbs. I would bet the aerokit adds at least 15-20 extra lbs, so the difference is equal to about 100 Lbs. You will never notice 100 pounds on the street. You will however notice the brighter and more open cabin w/ the Targa.

Spider and Jean-Marc,
I took the Permissible gross weight from the Porsche web site. http://www2.us.porsche.com/english/usa/home.htm
You are correct, the "car only" wieght is the Din and is only 1370/1440.
I should have used those numbers but either way, it's really the same net result. -not much difference.
FWIW, my only dislike of the Targa is tha way the "C" pillar looks. It sort of breaks up the clean lines of the coupe.
