Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
No one in their right mind would repeatedly duplicate the technique used by car magazines to achieve best 0-60 times - rev it up and drop the clutch.
Leading evidence: 'Use by car magazines' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use by car magazines' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am starting to look into a C4S as a late next summer purchase '04. I am interested in the wide body look but most appealing is the 4wd handling. Due to the added weight I am considering the X50 power package as an option bringing the hp up to 345. Is anyone running an X50 and how substantial is the difference in power and how well does it mate with the 4wd of the C4S.
I'd give up now, Sal. I've searched everywhere on this board (and the PAG site) to find concrete results-oriented data on the difference between the stock C2/C4 engine (same as C4S) and the same cars with the X51 option. We know the differences in terms of HP, but no one, to my knowledge, can confirm what the difference would be in terms of 0-60, for example. I've heard some thing like .1 sec benefit in 0-100 times, but it sounded like more of a guess than anything else. I'd love to know the answer myself as I am in the process of ordering a C4S Cab...
I suggest you guys drive an X51, if you ever have the opportunity. The numbers may not look good on paper but it truly feels a lot quicker than a standard engine. The torque curve is a bit fatter where it really matters before HP picks-up. It is expensive but worth the money considering you get full factory warranty.

my point is, the kit is too much money for what it does. it makes me think... why not a Turbo. and then... why not a Turbo with X50. and then... why not a GT2 or 3.
u see. the power war never ends! be happy with what u have. at least we drive a Porsche!
Just looking at Viken's diagram you can see that the "extra" power comes only after 5500RPM, while you are actually loosing some at 3750RPM.
So wether it's worth it or not fully depends on your driving style.
In day to day driving, a very minute number of the general population will hit those high RPMs, while if you plan on tracking the car, 5500 is where you would want to keep you rpms.
Then again, I have never driven an X51 so I basing all this on "paper"
I was considering doing this aftermarket from the dealer. I have heard good things about the package and it keeps warranty which is important. But the cost is quite high. So still researching. Has anyone done it here?
I considered X51 for my C2. However, I was already at an MSRP of ~85K, so the power kit would have put me in GT3 territory. No comparison.
However, if you already have the car, and have 15K burning a hole in your pocket, why not? I've owned two C2 3.6's, and I recently had the opportunity to drive an X51. Not blazingly faster, but seemed to rev quicker, stretch out the ratios a bit more.
Forget 0-60, that's all crap. No one in their right mind would repeatedly duplicate the technique used by car magazines to achieve best 0-60 times - rev it up and drop the clutch. OUCH!
Just my .02 worth.
