I used BK R-9003's (which are made for the tunnel side) for the outboard points and a custom BK piece (shaped like an R-9001 but short like a 9003) on the tunnel side, stacked with the factory receivers.
Leading evidence: 'Use bk r-9003's (which are made' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Does this mean that not safe to use 3 point belts with GT3 seats?

If you are using aftermarket seats, a 6 point is preferable to a 5 point harness.

I was informed that it's NOT recommended to use harnesses with the stock seats due to safety concerns.

But if you're at a DE event and want an instructor to ride with you, it's nice to have the same seat on the passenger side and be able to use the harnesses if you have them.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Check out Gerts pricing, he's having a sale on the leather GT3 seats. $2550 euros for the PAIR.

Sorry, I didn't know there was a color request. I'm sure he can order just about any color at a reasonable price. I think it's only a few hundred bucks more to custom order colored leather, led time is around 5 weeks.
I understand that GT3 seats don't fold - so only way to get access to rear is by sliding forward.
I have 6 and 3 year old sons - would fitting GT3 seats pose a problem for access?

. A six year old and 3 year old could get back there pretty easily although fitting a car seat would be a pain. As a practical matter, however, the non-folding GT3 seat severely limits access to the back seat.
P.S. The seats are all the way back in the photo.

I have to say that GT3 seats look uncomfortable. Unless your tracking all the time why would you want them? I admit I have never sat in them but I think my stock seats are very comfortable and I still had to adjust them every which way but loose to get them just right. The one piece seat looks horrible IMHO. I know the GT3s are lighter but I really don't see the attraction.

But the major attraction for me is that they hold me in place so much better than the stock seat, either for autocrossing or spirited driving, that there is no comparison to stock. I find them to be very comfortable, even for everyday use, but admittedly you have to fit the seat, they don't adjust to fit you. If you DO fit, they are wonderful; if not, then look elsewhere. And yes, they are 65 pounds lighter than a pair of stock seats, which is worth another 6.5 horsepower.
Bruce, I had the same impression you do, and I installed the GT3 seats thinking they would be a compromise in comfort for the benefit of support on the track. Was I ever wrong. Despite the fact that you cannot adjust them, I find them more comfortable that my stock seats. I am 6', 235lbs, and they fit me well. But, they also "fit" friends who range from a bit larger than myself to quite a bit smaller. And not one individual has commented negatively on comfort. Most of those who had ridden in the stock seats also feel these are more comfortable. I was comfortable for the 3-1/2 hour trip to mid-ohio. It might get bad on a longer trip, but I wouldn't have wanted to take the 996 on a long trip even with stock seats. And of course, on the track, there is no comparison.
Spizz -
If you track the car at DE events, your club might want the same seating for the driver and the passenger. I think out club would allow it, but they do require the same restraints both sides.
"I have to say that GT3 seats look uncomfortable. "
Yep, looks are very deceiving. Like Patrick, my experience has been that the GT3 seats are considerably more comfy than the full power, supple leather stock seats they replaced. They have much better support for the shoulders, lower back, etc and aid you in sitting correctly posture wise. I'm 6', 180 lbs.
Is there a hole in the bootom seat for the anti-submarine belt of either a five or six point harness? I'm looking at the pictures, and there doesn't seem to be any hole in the bottom. It would be unusual if there was none. Someone straighten me out.
Which pitcures are you looking at...? All the pictures I've seen of the underside of the GT3 seat show a hole - the belt comes thru between the cushions.
I'm thinking of getting the GT3 seats with carbon back, without any electronic adjustment. Are these true carbon fibre, and how much lighter are they?
It seems I have a misconception. If anyone in the Central PA. area has GT3 seats and wants to give me a ride I may join the ranks of the true believers.

My very subjective answer is that it would look OK, but wouldn't have the "finished" look of having two GT3 seats. On the other hand, you have an issue to deal with that I don't....getting your little guys comfortably into the back seat....so that might be a fair compromise. You could always add the second seat later if the "look" bothered you. Good luck!

An optional cross brace under the seat is required for this installation.

My apologies in advance if you are already in fact a Rennlist sponsor.
Something else to consider...
I was originally thinking about going with just one GT-3 seat. But if you're at a DE event and want an instructor to ride with you, it's nice to have the same seat on the passenger side and be able to use the harnesses if you have them. I was informed that it's NOT recommended to use harnesses with the stock seats due to safety concerns.
What I've was told re: harnesses:
1. Never ever use 4 point harnesses; these can do more harm than good.
2. If you are using stock seats your are better off using the stock 3 point seatbelts
3. If you are using aftermarket seats, a 6 point is preferable to a 5 point harness.
3 point belts are perfectly safe to use with GT3 seats....even the GT3 come with them from the factory. Sorry if my post was confusing
I pulled my own post down as I didn't intend to offend anyone with "spam".
FWIW, the company that I work for would only have made about $100 on a set of two seats. I was asked to move some of these if possible and so I tried.
My apologies to all.
Chris
Chris, FWIW I wasn't offended personally. I think one of the great benefits of this board is information which leads to us saving all the money we can.
Maybe posting in the classifieds section would be more appropriate and attract more buyers.
How are you folks installing the harness with the stock belts? Are the BK clip-on brackets the only way to go or are there other alternatives? Please advise.
I have a six point Schroth snap in harness set and my factory 3-points. I used BK R-9003's (which are made for the tunnel side) for the outboard points and a custom BK piece (shaped like an R-9001 but short like a 9003) on the tunnel side, stacked with the factory receivers. This works well.
