Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Received the new PCM disc for the navigation system. It was not recognized- disc error message appeared.Sent it back -new one received and same result.NavTech now states there is a problem with the 99 996(my car) and Porsche is working on a work around for this problem and to call Porsche .I am waiting for a call back from my dealer. Any one have a solution. thanks

POST 2Original post

Your dealer needs to check his TSBs. There are a number of them that deal with updating the program in the Nav unit... and the proper procedure to do that.

POST 3Original post

Leonard: Have you ever received that call back from your dealer? About 3 weeks ago, I received my 2003 CD from Navtech, and it doesn't work in the PCM I in my 2001 996. Since that time, my dealer is still checking on any available TSBs on this issue. Thus, as far as I know, as of now (July 5 2003), there is still this problem with 2003 map CDs from Navtech.

POST 4Original post

How often do you guys receive these discs? Is it a yearly thing? I have a 2002 and have only the original disc it came with.
