Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Folks,
A 911 has been my dream car since I was a very young boy and I now have the opportunity to purchase one. From my research and budget I have decided upon a 996. My first test drive of any 911 will come later this week with a 1999 Convertible and my concern is my size. I am a pretty big guy, wide shoulders, over 6ft tall, nearly 300lbs. I guess my biggest concern is can I fit comfortably? I realize its not an SUV but it would be nice to be somewhat comfortable. I would love to hear from other drivers and your opinions.
Thanks in advance.
Steve
I'm 6'4", and I have no trouble with leg room or head room. That being said, I weigh about 205 lbs. I find the seat to be comfortable.
You might find the seats to be a little tight, especially the sport seats. I'd look for a car with the comfort seat option if I were you.
I hope you find it to be comfortable.
Good luck with your test drive and towards your dream car. I am 6'1 and 220 broad shoulders from a lot of gym time. I fit just exactly into sport seats. No issues with leg foot or headroom. I'm always surprised at people asking if a big guy like me fits, it's just totally perfect for my ergonomics.
Dennis has a good point about the comfort seats. Again good luck and hope you find a car you love.
Meh...im 6'-4" and about 340. I fit in my cab just fine, even with the top up. If you can find a car with full power seats, they go lower than the manual ones. Having said that, mine has manual seats.
I'm 6'2" and 350 or so -- wide torso and fairly short legs (30" inseam). The classic catcher/nose tackle sort of build. I have a 2000 cab and headroom is not an issue with either the soft or hard top. Generally, I have no space/comfort issues, though bystanders seem a bit surprised when I unfold myself getting out of the car. I've driven a few hundred miles at a stretch with no ill effects; it's not a luxury car or a big SUV, but not problematic. The cruise control helps, as there really isn't a lot of foot room if you have big feet.
From what I've seen and read, you're likely to be more comfortable with the standard seats than the sport seats, which look to have more aggressive shoulder bolsters. Also, I've read that the "supple leather" upholstery (which I have) provides slightly more space under the steering wheel than the standard perforated upholstery.
I'm just over 6 ft tall, 290lb and due to my shoulders I wear a 54 athletic cut sport coat. Sport seats were a non starter for me. My 03 coupe has the comfort seats with supple leather that are power lumbar and heated. Just what i needed to drive fairly long distances (2 hours +) without issue.
These cars actually have ALOT of room in them.....get your dream car. BTW....I'm 6'2 220 blues eyes and due to my large man part I have a 74" inseam.....
Thanks for all the help. I feel much better about me fitting in the car. My test drive is Thursday. If I purchase I will post some pics. And for Sneaky Pete, What a guy!! My 30" inseam makes me feel somewhat inadequate..
