Still need to do some fine adjusting on the lid, but it closes and the spoiler works.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Finally a DIY that went right for a change. when I got the car there was a dent in the rear deck lid that drove me crazy. It is bigger than it looks. I felt like everyone at a atoplight behind me was looking at it. Body shop wanted $650 to fix it. I bought a used deck lid off ebay a while back. Swapped it out today and just finished. Had to take it all apart and put it back togeter with the new lid. Did a Carrera 4 to Carrera conversion in the process. Still need to do some fine adjusting on the lid, but it closes and the spoiler works. Now I have an extra lid, cover, accordian thing, and various parts like an extra light. I am going to try to sell and get my money back. Paid I think $255 for the deck lid on ebay and maybe I can get more than my money back.

POST 2Original post

May be a little late now but have you checked with those paintless dent repair (PDR) guys? From the photo it looks like it could be fixed by PDR for about $200.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tried that. Way to big. It looked like a repair had been attempted before.

POST 4Original post

Don't know if they're the same but I've got a bellow from a C4S decklid in good condition.

POST 6Original post

Thanks sanyata, I think they are different. I managed to source one locally today.
