I changed over my SUV and my wife's car last week, and that was as late as we've ever had to go.

The Pirelli Winter Sport 240 tires that I'm using now are pretty good, but they don't grip dry roads like my summer Michelins.

Or was this simply changing tires....for better grip?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I guess it all depends on how you look at it. I'm thinking of going skiing tomorrow morning. It's all good!
Denver didn't get it as bad as we did - they had a slushy mix of rain and snow.
Wow!
As I understand it, there is still ice in the Great Lakes, too. I guess I picked a great winter to move to the west coast.
Spring will be worth it when it comes, though.
Sheesh. I changed over my SUV and my wife's car last week, and that was as late as we've ever had to go. Enjoy the skiing, and let's hope you're on summer tires by Memorial Day!
And to think I was dang excited that the water temp in my swimming pool finally hit 80 degrees which means its the official start of summer here! So while I was floating in my pool, sipping on a Margarita, you were carving the fresh powder and guzzling Jaegermeister.
In short...we both had a good weekend!
Bummer.
I am used to the concept that Winter Tires are a short interval (4-5 month) pause in the enthusiast driving season. It sounds like this is reversed in your climate.
As I'm sure you know though when you are finally able to hit warm dry roads again with proper tires the experience seems new and exciting all over again.
Exactly! I typically put winter tires on around October 15th and leave them on until May 15th.

Holy Cow Dennis!
And I was getting depressed because our winter seemed like it wouldn't end. I was so happy to get the baby out, didn't care about the gravel.......already had one coat of wax and 4 track days so far! When I saw the weather report I mentioned to my wife, who has a best friend in Denver, that is a bummer, more snow now?
BTW: you have a C4s....you don't drive it in the snow? Or was this simply changing tires....for better grip?
I've only got about 20 days in this year. Lots of changes at work, so I've been pretty busy. I should get 2 or 3 days on the mountain before the season ends.
This snowfall is still on the ground, but not really on the streets anymore. That's my favorite combination - the roads are fine, everything is beautiful and whte with a blue sky in the background. It will all be gone by Friday.
