Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am strongly contemplating purchasing a 997 GT front bumper with DRLs to modernize my 996. I am looking at the versions made by Precision Porsche and Wicked. I appreciate any thoughts on either distributor. Also, has anyone used the 997 DRLs in this application? How do you hack into the driving lights and turn signal? Finally, are side skirts necessary whenever adding a late-style bumper on any early 996? Many thanks in advance for your reply! - Jeremy

POST 2Original post

For your MY 996, I think it's best to stick with OEM GT3 aerokit, or even a TT bumper if you want to keep resale value higher. Wicked bodykit are too agressive and ricey in look that will certainly hurt your resale at a later time. Also other aftermarket aerokits might look good but won't fit as well or won't be as effective at high speed. My 2c... Good-luck with your choice tho.

POST 3Original post

Precision Porsche is a sponsor on 6speedonline and have been known to provide good products with great fitment and great after sales support. Yes I think without sideskirts, it would look unbalanced IMO. I would tap into the side markers for the DRL's.
