Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Clean auto' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean auto' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I hate to say this, but the price of the 911 has gone down significantly and this has drummed up my curiousity. I have owned about 5 944's and loved every second, but I always dreamed of a 911.
Well, I just got out of my 2004 350z for a more sensible brand new mazda cx7 and let me tell you... I am not ment for a cross over. I miss the sporty feeling and the acceleration. Bleh I hate this car, but I have only put 13k miles on it. Looking on autotrader etc, etc I stumbled accross an amazing thing. I could buy a 1999 or newer 911 with low miles for under 30grand!
So with that being said I have found another deal and I wanted to run it by everyone
. I found a 2003 996 with roughly 26k miles for 28grand.

Its about 2 hours away and from me and the pics looks really nice. 3 owners with a clean auto check.
might be a little crazy wanting to buy a Porsche in this silly economy, but with these awesome prices who can pass it up.
Thanks!
Good for you. I think you should jump all over it. I paid $42 for my '03 about two years ago. And just over a year ago I could have still sold it for $40k or more. As fast as these cars have dropped this past year, they still have outperformed my retirement accounts!
Hey,
I'm also a long time 944 owner. I had an 86 NA, still have an 89 turbo track car, and had an 87 NA that was a daily driver for a few years.
Anyway, in early March I bought a 2000 911 Cab for $22,500. IMHO, the 996 is a great value.
I say go for it and good luck,
Barry
That looks like a super deal!
and I am also an Ex-951/944 owner.. matter of fact I am about to buy back my old 85.5 that I sold to a buddy 11-12 years ago!
I paid close to $38k for a CPO'd '02 a year ago with similar miles, nice options.
I'm not whining at all - fact is, these are superb cars - and hard to beat the price now. Get a good PPI and read some of the advice on the boards before pulling the trigger.
Thanks for all the great info guys! I am making a trip tomorrow to go look at it and scheduled a PPI. Only thing is "I have a guy from Fort Lauderdale looking at it too"... Argh haha I hate that... Makes me want to drive down there right now! I dont wanna miss out. Probably just a sales pitch lol.
nice looking car.
might be just me, but in lighter colors, i prefer the car to be pretty stock (no aero kit). but in dark colors i prefer the car to have an aero kit.
nothing a few bucks and some time can't fix.
wonderful car! checks out and all it needs is new rubber on the front.
I got lucky, the guy that was supposed to look at it the night before beat me there, but ended up he "didnt have enough time" so he left in a huff.
Unfortunately I ran out of time today and couldn't finish the buying process due to the banks being closed, so I put down a deposit and will try to finish the process on monday!! woohoo!
Gotta see if I can leave work early for that 2.5hr drive... at least the drive back home will be worth it
well they didnt want to come down at all since there were 2 people looking at it and offered me 5k less on my car than what kbb poor trade in says.
They didnt want to deal so I said no go... Oh well there are more fish in the sea.
Keep looking. I just picked up a 2002 with 14K miles for $27K. Perfect except for a few very minor paint chips on fender. There are sweet deals on 996's out there.
yah, as I act uninterested they continue to call me with better and better deals. "Ok my manager said he can go another 1,000 on your trade."
I'll wait them out haha!
I agree, but they think I am stupid and don't understand car values. "THis car is a great deal man!" "Its gonna sell quick!"
Well it hasnt sold in 2 weeks and they keep calling me. We'll see.
Hello,
The sales games never end do they? When I was in the market back in March I read an add for a car that sounded pretty close to what I was looking for. An 02 C4 Cab, 70K miles, good condition, nice options, etc. The price was $29000 or something like that. My max price was $25K. So I called the place, spoke to a salesman, got the details on the car, etc. I was very honest with the salesman and told him I liked the car, but my max price was $25. Of course, he couldn't go that low, the car was worth, more, I would be foolish to let it go, etc. The best they could do was $26K. So I passed. The next day I made the deal to buy my 00 cab. The day after that the salesman called back and now, magically, they could do the car for $25. Too late. I am happy with my choice.
