I am sure this repair would have been over a grand at the dealer and they would probably just replace the entire heater core.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Greetings gents, I am searching for a DIY link and damned if I can find it. It involves repairing the foam covered door in the AC system under the cowling. I know I saw it but can't put my eyes on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's the one. Thank you sir!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I performed this fix today. If you are experiencing foam coming through your A/C vents and the A/C isn't cooling like it used to, this is the fix. This door should be covered in foam. Obviously mine was not. How the hell is this Swiss cheese thing supposed to stop hot and cold air from mixing? All in all, about four hours of work. I only spent about 7 dollars for foam and duct tape. I am sure this repair would have been over a grand at the dealer and they would probably just replace the entire heater core.

POST 5Original post

Mine's been blowing foam out the vents for over a year now. This has been on my list of things to do for a while, but I keep putting it off. Pretty easy to do?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Fairly straight forward. Hardest part is getting under the dash. Let me know when you ready and I will make a trip over there and give ya hand.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
