Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
If you filtered out the fear-mongering threads, you could probably keep up with this forum using the USPS...
Leading evidence: 'Use usps' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use usps' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Since this issue is common across 996s and Bosxters and it's always a highly debated topic, should we start a new subforum same level as 996, Boxster, etc?
So ppl passionate about the topic can play there and ppl in the main forum don't have to be offended or get sick of the negative posts?
Though one could also argue if you don't like the thread, just don't read it....
Thoughts?
I'm for it. Not choosing to read it is one thing but when it clutters up the main part of the 996 forums with half of the threads related to it on one page, it makes me dizzy.
There is absolutely nothing new about the IMS that hasn't been discussed over and over in the past with the exception of a couple new products. It's like Groundhog Day.
Ahsai, you know what's gonna happen if a sub forum is created right? The next best thing, cylinder scoring is gonna be the hot topic of debate.
maybe we should just elect to create two sub forums to begin with.
we already have two "stickys" on the subject and STILL.............

Exactly why we need a subforum.....the stickys don't seem to work. Notice there's only 24 replies?!! If we have the subforum, we can move these stickys there too

SCENARIO: noob encounters a problem (or is doing research for a possible purchase) AND VERY RARELY is a search done PRIOR to starting the UMPTEENTH thread about IMS....either out of ignorance/lack of forum savvy ...or laziness.....or both!
My 2 cents: a subforum CANNOT hurt but not too sure if it will help. But if you're an admin and have the time/patience/temerity to police the site then I say GIT R DONE.
If current site settings can be tweaked to do so, then it has been way overdue IMHO. Heck, I have been to some forums where there is a mandatory MINIMUM post count that forum noobs must meet before earning privileges (like starting a thread
)
I would even volunteer Alpy and me to moderate the IMS sub forum. That way all the n00bs would get "just the facts" and no BS.
Potentially this sub-forum would be more entertainment than OT forum.
Unfortunate but true. Not much good news about the subject.
