Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

While the car is in the air check the exhaust manifolds for any sign of charred material.
Leading evidence: 'Check exhaust manifolds' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Well, first you have to check the vital fluid levels.

Ideally you would also have the car lifted in the air and inspected for any leaks.

So far I have avoided running over any squishy road kill but I'd hate to imagine what the car would smell like after that...

The exhaust manifolds run quite hot -- to state the obvious -- and are located in a particularly dirty location.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys!
I have something that has me a bit curious. After driving the car, it has a smell it to. I know these cars smell like burnt oil because of Cosmiline, or what not, but this smell is different. Where it used to be burning rubber smell, not it smells like something is very very hot! Once again, everything is fine, car runs fine and even was at Porsche dealership recently to get tires mounted and balanced and alignment, and they did not notice anything.
So I turn to you fellow 996ers of Rennlist, in short words.... HELP!
I tried smelling my screen to try to "identify that smell" but since I have started sniffing a pound of cocaine a week I have lost my sense of smell. Maybe one of the other fellow rennlisters can help you. But from what you typed it seems like you're talking about the Famous Porsche parfume which is completely normal.

The exhaust manifolds run quite hot -- to state the obvious -- and are located in a particularly dirty location. Sometimes a piece of plastic flies up from the draft of the car and if it contacts the exhaust pipe is can stick and char over time. On top of my Boxster engine I have removed a scrap of cigarette wrapping plastic, that fine plastic film, that had a charred edge.
Water splashed on the hot exhaust can cause them to stink, smell like as best I can describe it as an odor of ozone.
This sometimes is not as pleasant a smell as one might like.
If something is charring on a hot exhaust the car can smell like a smoldering fire in trash dump.
