I have strategically placed white paper under the oil filter and drain plug to check for leaks between drives and nothing....It is very odd, everything is tight, am I just eating oil from driving with revs over 4k (proper warm up and cool down are done).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Did a few searches in the forum along with Google without much luck. Has anyone put in a bit of "super coolant" the green stuff in with the Porsche Coolant/Water mix? Just curious if there is any additional benefit from it. I have some left over from an old car (about half the bottle) so figured I may try it out.

POST 2Original post

I know Porsche coolant can gel up when mixed with other coolants. I wouldn't do it

POST 3Original post

+1 Are you experiencing any cooling problems currently?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nope no issues, just wanted to see what everyone else thought, before I moved forward with it. I do have a side issue/concern though, I have only had the car for a week now (put about 2,000 miles on her ) anyways changed the oil and filter and had no issues with oil level until I changed it last night. I used Mobil 1 0W-40 which is the same as the PO used. Now it shows full level on dip stick and the computer, then after a "spirited drive" it falls to middle level on both the computer and dip stick. I have strategically placed white paper under the oil filter and drain plug to check for leaks between drives and nothing....It is very odd, everything is tight, am I just eating oil from driving with revs over 4k (proper warm up and cool down are done). It just has me worried.

POST 5Original post

You can just check the dipstick every morning before you start the car. That should give you very consistent readings for monitoring oil consumption.

POST 6Original post

^^ like he said Fwiw, my 996 with 40k mi never burnt any oil. You may want to get under the car to look for leak. Perhaps it is leaking under load. If you see the oil continuing to go down, then it's gotta be burning internally. Keep eye on temps as oil is often injected to cool cylinder on high temp

Don't listen to djantlive. Pour that stuff in. We want to know if that is one of the things that gel the antifreeze.
