I speak with him daily and told him that's where it ran the entire time I had it but he wants to make sure all is good since her is giving me a year warranty from 2000 miles away.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, today was 70 and sunny with clear skies and I am driving a 2004 Ford Excursion with 200,000+ miles and lots of rust. And I am at work and bored so I thought I would show you all what my $40,000 Porsche looks like. It is in California all paid for and waiting to be cleared and shipped back. Hopefully. The way this 9 month adventure has gone he has my money and my car and will probably keep them both for a year.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry, felt like I should black out the plate but not sure why

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No. Car is at UFO motorsports and is all put back together. He was ready to ship back after putting a few hundred miles on it but he was not happy with the temp gauge going above the 0 on the 180 so free of charge he put a low temp thermostat in and is continuing to test it. I speak with him daily and told him that's where it ran the entire time I had it but he wants to make sure all is good since her is giving me a year warranty from 2000 miles away. Him keeping my money and car was a joke (at least I hope it is).

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Long version (with all expenses) or short version? Short version - Best wife in the world, evil dealer, steering, DIY accidents, a deer and IMS

POST 7Original post

Wow, need more detail. At the end of the day when you get behind the wheel and hammer it...it may all make sense.

Really a few hundred miles and still more ? What's he doing taking his kids to school every day ? You have the patience of a saint.

Had would be a better term. But I want him to make sure it is ready before he sends it back because I would not hesitate to have him come get it for a warranty issue.

Well, since you asked and I am now bored at my daughters volleyball game, I'll hit the highlights. Was looking for a 996 for a while as a daily driver. Found one and showed my wife. She bought it for me for Father's Day. She paid asking price, no PPI, and paid them $800 to detail it. Was told car was perfect. With tax I was up to about $26000.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Car showed up with no oil and beat to hell. Car ran perfect. Had the IMS done just in case and found IMS was bad. Whole other post on that but it led to the $9000 rebuild. After the first IMS bearing but before the rebuild hit a deer and got a bunch of new parts. Power steering rack started leaking and had it to be replaced. Various other things. I could go on and on.

POST 12Original post

Well, tough story but hopefully you will have a beautiful C4 cab that is reliable and an enjoy to drive a the end of this all..

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just venting again. I should rename this post my whining post or my $40,000 Porsche that I will never drive. Here is the latest update. Car was done 2 weeks ago. Tim was waiting for the guy who brought the car to him for him to come back and get the car. Her passed by 2 weeks ago and Tim missed him so he waited 2 more weeks for the driver to come back. Well he came back 2 days ago and picked up the car. Tim paid him for the return shipping. Now he has the car and has been paid. I spoke with the driver and her thinks it is going to be 2-3 weeks until he gets the car back near Ohio. I have come to the realization that I will never get the car back. And the way this has gone I don't expect the car to work.

Take 3 days off work....get on a plane. Take a taxi to where the truck is, get your car and drive home ! Enjoy a fantastic car solo on an adventure trip...get at least 1 speeding ticket..by the time you get home you will be so happy your wife will tell you to stop chasing her around the house. Oh yeah stop in Orlando for pictures and a beer with me !

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Car is back. Arrived at 1:30 last night. Drove home, slept, drove to work and back and then had to take another car and some of the kids to an overnight volleyball camp. So far, about 50 miles car runs great. A lot nicer than the truck I was driving. Can't wait to get the top off. I will keep the updates coming fairly frequently so you know how the rebuild holds up. Plan to put 25-30k miles per year on it. Only way to get my money back. Funny story. When I pulled into the parking deck the guy I was relieving was leaving. He saw me get out of the Porsche and said I was making too much money.

I love when people say stuff like that. Tell them you're not making too much money, you're spending too much money.
