Suggestion

I think your wheels would be great for winter duty for a 996 owner maybe you could get the one that has the most curb rash repaired and then sell the set for ~$500.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No luck selling my used Turbo Look wheels. Not sure if it's the style, the condition, or what. One wheel has some curb rash, and I'm wondering if it's worth refinishing it just to sell it. What do you think these are worth in this condition? What if I refinish them? 18" Turbo Look Wheels, Set of 4 Front: 7.5J x 18 - ET50 (p/n 993.362.134.06) Rear: 10J x 18 - ET65 (p/n 993.362.140.04) More pics: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjXsR4kr Wheels are straight, structurally sound and ready to be refinished. Came off my '99 996.

POST 2Original post

Been looking at wheels forever. I am guessing they are about $100 each as they sit. Pay $150 per wheel to professionally refinish then $250/wheel. The problem is that there are tons of these out there. The clean sets I see on ebay of thee sell for $900-$1000.

POST 3Original post

For comparison (not apples to apples), I bought a set of "as new" take-off wheels from my local dealer for my Cayenne. They were 18" Cayenne S wheels. I paid $500 for a set of four, without center caps or tires. I use them for my winter tires. I think your wheels would be great for winter duty for a 996 owner maybe you could get the one that has the most curb rash repaired and then sell the set for ~$500. Good luck!
