By the way, I got the same response from my wife too when I changed my Sport-Design wheels to MK2 GT3 wheels, Oh well...

Dunno which center caps you have, but I was surprised how well mine cleaned up when I changed wheels this spring.

I was planning on refinishing my wheels this spring, but found a set of great-condition Carrera II wheels on ebay for a decent price, so I decided to go for a change instead.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was planning on refinishing my wheels this spring, but found a set of great-condition Carrera II wheels on ebay for a decent price, so I decided to go for a change instead. I'm psyched about the new look for my old car!
I did a bit of touch-up on some minor scuffs, cleaned/polished/waxed the new wheels, got some new tires mounted, and even repainted my lug bolts.
After all that, my wife says "It looks the same..."
Tell me it isn't so!

After (with new wheels):
Very nice upgrade, looks great. By the way, I got the same response from my wife too when I changed my Sport-Design wheels to MK2 GT3 wheels, Oh well... :-) Cheers,
Who cares what the wife says!? Put some center caps in those though.
Nice, I was thinking of doing the same switch, but can't let go of my retro 993-looking twists - yet.
Looks good! I have the Carrera IIs on my cab, but my wife is actually pushing to get different wheels. She has found some she really likes, but I like the CIIs! I think they fit the car really well....
Nice upgrade ... the more I see those wheels, the more I like them! IMO, an especially good look with your red calipers.
Dunno which center caps you have, but I was surprised how well mine cleaned up when I changed wheels this spring. Some all-purpose cleaner and a soft bristled scrub brush, and they came out looking pretty good.
One other thing ... if your lug bolts are getting a little scruffy, one of the sponsors here sells black zinc-coated lug bolts. My lugs were beat up and rusted, so I replaced them with a set of the black lugs. Major improvement.
I almost got rid of my curbed up MY02 wheels but had them professionally refinished to pretty much factory new and man they look good. Understated elegance and sophistication is what they are!
Nu-Brite in Surrey.
Ive heard theyre the best in the lower mainland for wheel repairs. Fortunately i didnt have to pay as a local tire company that i used to re and re some new tires smashed into a curb and put about 15" of rash on one wheel so they had to refinish them all.
Id use nu-brite again. Wouldnt use that tire company again!

I'll snap a closeup tomorrow if it isn't raining ... in the mean time, here's a shot of my car in the Hershey swap meet parking lot. From most angles, the black lugs are more or less invisible, which I kind of like. My wheels, BTW, are the 18" Porsche Sport Design, not the MY02 that the OP has.
