Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm trying to remove the bose sub box from passenger footwell. Did some searches and found there should be two torx screws. I found one at the front top, but can't find the other - closest to shifter/passenger seat. It's clearly attached, but can't locate the screw. I'm sure it's something simple. Any help would be appreciated. BTW - trying to line the sub box win dynamat and put in a 5.25 JBL GTO.

Try this: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...r-replacement/ I'm want to pull mine out to do the same. You go first. I'll watch

POST 3Original post

i did this. the first screw is in a little pull out portion of the carpet. close to the front where the shifter is. its the carpet right next to trim that surrounds the shifter. looking up from the floor its about 6 inches up. you just have to pull the carpet back. The second one is in the very far back on some models, upper side about 4 inches from the back. Other models it's under the plastic vent on top of the box. In both cases you will find that a 5.25 is not going to work at all as itried. Some people said they did it, but i dont see how. I finally gave up and ordered a sub from Rod at car audio innovations that is custom cut for cabs to fit right behind passenger seat. I was able to replace the door speakers with hertz 5.25 with lots of modifications.pm me if you need to talk. wayne

Thanks Skystak. Is the carpet pull above the slit or below? Meaning the small piece (above) or large piece of carpet (below)? I'll line the box either way, but I'll let you know my outcome.

POST 5Original post

small, right under radio/storage console. it the carpet that sort of folds behind the box. its pretty stiff so you to work it.
