I'll run the subs in series with each other, but I still seem to be short an amp output channel or two.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm in the process of replacing the head unit and amp in my 2003 C2. Going with a Pioneer AVH-X4600BT head unit and a 5-channel Kenwood amp. I'm going to keep the stock Bose speakers for the time being. I have 6 speakers (2 each in the dash, front doors, & rear seats) as well as the sub woofers. I'll run the subs in series with each other, but I still seem to be short an amp output channel or two. Any ideas as to how to connect the 5 amp outputs to all the speakers?

POST 2Original post

If you're doing both the head unit and amp then I would also do the speakers but perhaps leave the subs alone. My understanding is that the front door and dash speakers effectively form a 3-way system with the doors providing the bass and the dash providing the midrange and highs. You could feed them through crossovers mounted by the amp. There have recently been a few threads with speaker recommendations as well as someone doing a complete install. One piece of advice given to me by a pro high-end installer was to choose speakers with soft cones for the dash because of the harsh reflections from the windshield glass. Might be snake oil to sell me pricier speakers - I've not investigated further yet,

POST 3Original post

the configuration is: dash channel 1/2 doors channel 3/4 (use amp crossovers if able) rears wire to head unit directly as they are just fill. i think green and violet wires in harness. sub on sub channel 5. most amps have subs together.
