Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

A while ago I bought a pair of used headlights and sent them to Charles (particlewave) for the bi-xenon conversion.

The high beams definitely seem to have better range than the halogen lights they replaced; at least, on familiar ground it seemed as though I could see more with these beams than the old ones.
Leading evidence: 'Use headlights and sent them' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace ; at least' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I'd imagine that installing these in a Litronic equipped car would be problematic -- but I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that anyway, except to change the appearance.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A while ago I bought a pair of used headlights and sent them to Charles (particlewave) for the bi-xenon conversion. I got them back this week and installed them today. First impression: wow. Second impression: Holy @#$%^&!, these things are great!
Seriously, the quality is impressive, both in terms of Fred's (Nine8Six's) design and construction and Charles' installation. Charles replaced a lot of burnt and corroded wiring and the work is impeccable.
The lights are exactly what I'd hoped for. I stayed fairly close to the stock colors, as I didn't think my car benefits from blacked-out trim pieces. My lights have the stock silver reflector and shroud, with a champagne bezel. Charles also removed the amber turn signal filter for me, so I had to install amber bulbs behind the (now) clear turn signal lenses. Finally, my lights have the "angel eyes" ring that lights up with the parking lights.
This evening I went for a quick ride around the neighborhood. I live in a suburban area that has no streetlights; years ago our builder, in explaining his disdain for street lighting, stated that he "cherishes the dark."
If that's truly the case, he will hate my car. The xenon projectors produce a good volume of sharply defined white light. The high beams definitely seem to have better range than the halogen lights they replaced; at least, on familiar ground it seemed as though I could see more with these beams than the old ones.
All in all, I'm pleased with the conversion, and certainly recommend it if your car has the stock halogens and you prefer xenon lighting. Charles is a pleasure to work with, and the result is worth the time and expense. I think I've posted the link before, but this thread on the 986 Forum has a lot of detail about the conversion:

I've attached a quick cell phone pic of my car ... true glamour shots will have to wait until after a good detail session
Very nice!
I'm glad that I could help. It's always stunning to see the transformation these units make to the front end!
Here are some pictures taken directly after completion, but pictures really don't do them justice
The retrofit is $600 + return shipping. If you are a DIYer, the projector kit is $355
Ok, I don't want to take over the thread, so I'm out. Any inquiries can be PMed to me
If you already have factory "bi-xenon" projectors.
But you will need a way to defeat the servomotor high beam "upshift".

The link I posted above explains the conversion and the projectors that are being used. But yes, the headlights -- and my car -- started out as garden variety halogen. So, no need for (or concern about) the Litronic gizmos that shift the headlights upward when you hit the high beams.
