average 2 family income is still below 100k in this country so certainly a 'wealthier' sample set here on average
Leading evidence: 'Set here' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set here' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok I am married with kids and doing well...at least I think so.
But since everone is posting what they do I'll post a question on what I need. Anyone in the Pittsburgh area looking for a seasoned Sales Executive with an MBA? I need to move to Pittsburgh. Any help with Executive Search Firms in that area would also be appreciated.
I'll second this one Dell

My fiancee' said we should get the Porsche now before we have kids so we could enjoy it while we were "young." Now how can you argue with that???
-td
I hate to say it but I am glad she isn't. Most of the females are not the sharpest tools in the shed. A majority of them started at such a young age they do not have a secondary education. There are some very intelligent and genuine ladies in this industry but most of them think they are brilliant and are somewhat spoiled(a very dangerous combination)
.
I am very lucky to be in this industry as it pays very well and work never comes home with me. Except for the traveling which is needed to make a good income which can get brutal. Which explains why I am writing this from the Crown Room in ATL after being stranded here last night at 2am and then getting up at 6am to find out security has been increased which resulted in RIDICULOUSLY long security lines and the cancelation of my flight since the flight crew could not even make it through security in time for the flight. I am now hoping my flight at 11:15 which now departs at 11:49 still leaves.
If I do get home I will take a shower, hit the gym, and head back to another efficient security line on my way to another photo shoot.
Yeeahaaww.
Otherwise an exciting career
The Rennlist has become a form entertainment and education while I am on the road.
I couldn't imagine being on the road anymore. Used to do consulting myself and spent all my time in the "lounges". Never really felt like I had a home. And now, after hearing about the security release this morning I can't imagine flying with routine anymore. You have got to develop some serious patience sitting in those damn security lines!
We'll do our best to keep you entertained while traveling
Have a safe flight.......
Age: 28 (mentally only 17)

I figure this will get lost in the 5 pages of response so why not:
1. 38
2. Married 8yrs
3. 2 kids (3yrs and 6mo)
4. Marketing
5. More than I need, less than I want.
1)34
2)M
3)0 to my knowledge but thinking about working on that
4)Oil and Gas finance for me/ Attorney for wife(she is a principal in her firm)
5)Enough that we do not have to ever worry about fighting over money, but still not stinking rich by any means.
Alright, I'll jump in:
1)34
2) Married, just over 7 years
3) 1 daughter, almost 4
4) Commercial Printing
5) enough to survive and keep the wife in Cavalli jeans.
My daughter particularly enjoyed the P-Car with the top down. I heard a lot of, "catch him daddy, catch him. I know you can do it." And "Porscheeeeeee" everytime we merged onto the 405 on the 270 onramp by the house.
Like Vovo - my wife is asian as well. Japanese, and lost not only all the baby weight after my daughter was born, but more. Can't beat that.
Funny you should mention that but I couldn't help but notice the nice distribution of scores across intervals!
While the intervals are not perfect, they do fall as I would suspect.
i forgot that there are $5000 dollar 911's and $200,000 911's but I guess I still thought that there would be more folks above the 500k mark
a better survery would have been:
of those who bought their 996 new what is your income
...then a break down in 100k increments to 500k
...next time
average 2 family income is still below 100k in this country so certainly a 'wealthier' sample set here on average
Less than 1/10th 1% of people in the United States have an annual income of more than $500,000. Median income in the States is $25,000 for individuals.
I really don't think it matters. The question was "what was is the household income distribution of members of this board?" and you got your answer.
If you're looking to convince yourself that everyone who owns a Porsche has a $300K+ income, then you'll be disappointed. Certainly my contact with fellow PCA members suggests that there's a wide distribution of backgrounds. There are some very wealthy people, but the reality is that there are a fair number of people who either do 'okay', or have saved for quite a while to buy their Porsche.
It's the car that matters, not the income of the person behind it. I personally have no patience with an obsession with wealth. Character is all the matters and obession with the possesions of others is a sign of poor character.
you crack me up
1)i start a survery
2)get a bunch of responses (one of which was yours)
3)you tell me WHY I am doing the survey
4)Then finsh with a partially vailed suggestion about poor character and obsession with money?...which feels sort of directed at me.
do you need a hug or something? did you have a bad day?
am I just reading this wrong? or do you just have me figured out?
that's it I'm buying a gallardo...that ul show you!
you are too funny
It wasn't written that way, but feel free to interpret any way you choose. I don't know you well enough to say that's the case. I was just stating a general opinion.
I personally have no patience with an obsession with wealth. Character is all the matters...
LOL When I worked in Manhattan I tried to persuade several of the drop dead gorgeous girls that I met that character was the most important factor in a relationship, but unfortunately they remained steadfast in their obsession with wealth.
Just to build on that......
The 2005 IRS figures are as follows:
Top 1% earn $295,495+
Top 5% earn $130,080+
Top 10% earn $94,891
Top 25% earn $57,343
If you would like to build your survey on proven descriptive stats then you could make your intervals mathc these and thus know where "996" owners generally are in the distribution.
Oh well. Some people are that way. Personally, I have no patience for it. Life is not all about money. It gets to a point where having more really doesn't give you that much, other than the desire to have more
I noticed it was pretty common in the SF Bay Area - one of the reasons we got out.
I'm at the point in my life now, where I have everything I need.
oops
just got back from seattle wht'd i miss?
what a$$ started this stupid thread!!!!
in the words of the wu tang klan
"cash rules everthing around me cream get the money dollar dollar bill yall!"

When I'm on my deathbed, I want my kids to think, either:
1. Well, he may not have always been there 24/7, but he was out there, fighting to make a great home for us. Trying to always work hard and sacrifice so the people he loved could have the nicer things in life and didn't starve. Working day and night so he could afford education, health care, leave us somehting when he's gone. And wow, he worked so hard so mom could be there for us, stay home, support us, love us and give her everything she ever wanted. He may havnt' been there much, but he was a great provider.
OR
2. He didn't work hard, didn't try hard to put food on the table. Wasn't really concerned with making a better life for us. Wasn't worried about getting us things on Xmas. Never made much, never saved. Couldnt help us get educated. Din't care if mom had the nicer things in life. Made her go out and work, and put us in day care with people could have cared less about us. But Im glad he sat around the house all the time and had the time to give us such great emotional support, when he wasn't working. He was always around, but didn't work to hard to provide for us...
I think I'd rather be on my deathbed as number 1. How 'bout you?
Actually, I'd say that neither is correct and that life is about balance.
If you're not there for your kids, then why bother having them? They sure as hell don't appreciate you if you're not there and you're not part of raising them - hence the reason why so many kids are spoiled brats, as their parents think that money is a substitute for love, attention and raising them with good morals.
It is possible to work hard and have a good family life - the two are not mutually exclusive.
1. 48
2. Yup, and better than I deserve.
3. 3... one out of university, one halfway through, stepson three years away.
4. I own an ad agency.
5. An astonishing amount, really, but if you think I'm going to name a number with two ex wives lurking out there, you're crackers.
An astonishing amount, really, but if you think I'm going to name a number with two ex wives lurking out there, you're
LOL You are doing better than most. Generally one ex wife will do you in. But what the hell , you helped ease the financial worries of at least two women.
Thanks. Yes, I did better than a lot of guys, but you can never get the time back. Still, #3 was totally worth waiting for!
Meanwhile, I have this advice for you: If you get the urge to marry, consider this option first: Just find someone you hate and buy them a house.
