Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My drains were recently checked and were cleared with compressed air due to a leak. Whenever it rains, I end up with water coming into the cabin of my C4S coupe by the rear roof pillar on the passenger's side. What else could cause this? Do I have a broken drain line perhaps? Could it be something else?

POST 2Original post

Window seal leak perhaps? https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...sunroof-3.html

POST 3Original post

Are you sure they are clear? Dump a little water into the corner of your sunroof pan and see if it drains out. Sometimes air doesn't clear them, and sometimes compressed air pops the hose off inside the headliner. My preferred method is to buy some lightweight but semi-rigid cable and snake them out, much like you would do a clogged drain.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The headliner was removed when the lines were cleaned out. I suppose it could have popped off or it could still be clogged. I'll take a look. Window seals might be a possibility too.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After looking at the rear window and the back of the car, I tend to believe that it's the sunroof. The water drips from the roof when it rains. The head liner gets soaked above the rear seats and the water drips down.

POST 6Original post

Aren't there drains inside the sunroof? I don't have one so can't check it out, but it was that way on my VW - the sunroof drains typically leak out into a wheel well. If those drains are clogged, water can come into the car.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Leak found and fixed. It was the sunroof seal.

POST 8Original post

Now you can focus on some spring skiing instead of your water leak. Glad you found the problem Dennis.
