Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I recently changed my spark plugs and inspected the coils, they were fine no cracks.
Leading evidence: 'Inspect coils, they were fine no cracks' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect mass air flow sensor' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

When I changed my plugs, I later found that I one of the connecting wires wasn't clicked in all the way.

I am also going to guess that the coils where never replaced in the 11years/ 60,000 miles so I will replace all 6 this week.

As I mentioned before, this car has been running strong all winter and iv taken her up to the redline once warm at every given opportunity and clear empty road.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I came outside today and started the car. Had to run inside to get my glasses, and when I came out the RPMs dropped to idle and I got a CEL drive to shop. What is going on? I restarted the car and got the same message. The car sounds like its misfiring. Im not sure if it makes a difference, its been pouring here last 3 days, and I drove the car 1 day ago.
My guess would be that you've got one or more cracked ignition coils. This isn't an uncommon problem. When you drive in wet conditions, moisture gets into the crack(s) and causes a misfire, which triggers a CEL.
I'd get a cheap code reader at your local auto parts store and verify that the misfire is the source of the CEL, but it sounds like you already know that.
I recently changed my spark plugs and inspected the coils, they were fine no cracks. Could have developed one I guess in the time.
Thanks guys Ill check it out. I hope its nothing serious. I guess let it dry out
Had my coils out recently for a plug & plug tube replacement & noticed the fine cracks.
I masked off the connector portion & beginning of rubber insulators, wiped down the coil housings w/ automotive wax remover, then gave them 2 coats of black Plasticote spray (from Lowes) which filled in the cracks . Also did a little beforehand test w/ my ohm meter to make sure the product was nonconductive . They look like new , hopefully will keep out moisture , & have to believe due to location is not a fire hazard any more than the bazillion other plastic parts.

+1 on getting a reader. When I changed my plugs, I later found that I one of the connecting wires wasn't clicked in all the way. It seemed fine but when I pulled on it, it came right off. Worth checking.
I just restarted the car again. When I just start the car cold, its fine, as long as the RPMs are above 1k. As a minute passes and the RPMs start to drop, the whole car starts to shake, and does not want to go bellow 1k RPMs. Once it does, its got a rough idle sound and the solid CEL comes on. Sounds like 1 of the cylinders is not working.
Ill get the OBD tomorrow probably, but I hope to just wait till its dry turn the key, and go buy new coils.
As an aside, I own an '04 Carrera because of chronic coil problems in my '05 Thunderbird, problems which caused that daft bugger to go lame on the interstate once too often.
Get the code reader first and read the code or codes and post for comment. The cause of the behavior may be a bad coil, or one not fully connected to the harness, but it may be something else.
Nope, I have a stock car. I am guessing it's the coil since it's very wet here for last 2 days and will continue to rain for another day. I am also going to guess that the coils where never replaced in the 11years/ 60,000 miles so I will replace all 6 this week. Hope this solves the problem. As I mentioned before, this car has been running strong all winter and iv taken her up to the redline once warm at every given opportunity and clear empty road.
So I fires up the car today. Everything is working like clockworks. Going with wet coil problem. Still will pull the code once I have time and get home.
