Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just replaced my dead battery with a new Optima. The factory battery (according to my bathroom scales) weighed 49.5 pounds, while the Optima weighed 40. That is a 9.5 pound savings, mounted high in the car; and you have a better battery! Andy

POST 2Original post

What optimal battery model or order number did you use and was making the bracket easy? I just read and article from another link but the tray seemed difficult to make. thanks,

POST 3Original post

What I heard from my auto teacher NAPA bought the rights from Optima and they sell their version of them for way less.

POST 4Original post

I lost about 20 pounds on the Atkins diet, but I am no where near as shocking as an Optima battery!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good one Stem Doug, the install is very easy. I used a 34 red top. I decided not to use the aluminum sheet, and drilled the battery straight to the existing tray. The hardest part is lifting the 50 pound battery off the tray. It should take 20 minutes start to finish, if you have the bolts available. Andy
