Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will it fit? My father has one left from his 97 993tt and offered it to me. I need to get one as I periodically go down to OC and leave it outside, then it becomes rediculously filthy, (gotta love black). In any event yes, no, maybe so? Thanks Sean

POST 2Original post

Nope. 996 is bigger than 993, and the shape is different also (993 has more wider rear than rest of the body, where as 996 is not that 'curvy'). 993: Length 4245 mm, width 1735 mm. 996: Length 4430 mm, width 1765 mm.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks I thought as much but decided to ask to make sure. Going to get a cover, any difference between factory ones? I am most probably going to get a silverguard or whatever one from ebay as it is cheaper than the dealer. Any other options? thanks Sean

POST 4Original post

I've heard factory covers aren't that good. I have Wolf custom fit car cover (I think four layer) and I think it's really good.

POST 5Original post

I would give it a try. I use the cover from an 82 911SC Targa. It is a little short in the rear due my Aerokit tail but fits fine otherwise. I only use it in my garage to keep the dust off.
