Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just ordered my exhaust for my '00 C4 Cab. I'm pretty handy around the garage, but was wondering if there's anything I should look out for when I install. Any "hints" would be a great help... Thanks...Phattey...

POST 2Original post

I did the complete Fabspeed installation in about 2 hours and that included removing the stock exhaust. Hardest part is lining up the tips correctly when the mufflers are installed.

POST 3Original post

I concur. Lining up the tips will drive you nuts.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Are you talking about the tips that came with the exhaust or the factory tips that you may have installed on the Fabspeed??

POST 5Original post

Fabspeeds are great! Everyone is correct. Whether you keep the factory tips or Joe's, it's a PITA to get them aligned...almost takes a spotter so everything looks correct when the straps are tightened. BTW, how do Joe's tips look? It was my Cab that Joe used to initially measure for them. Got a free installation of the mufflers for that.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll certainly have someone there with me on the install. My son. He needs to understand and embrace(hehe) the obsessive nature of men and cars...that of which his mom dosen't get.. He's 20 and in college with a sa-weet beater 240 Volvo wagon...we can't seem to kill it. It goes and goes and goes... I just picked up a one owner '89 Corolla as my daily driver... Phattey...

POST 7Original post

A friend of mine and I installed mine over pizza and beer. Its not hard, having a lift and a torch at our diposal was very helpful. Though not always necessary, heating the bolts, especially the rusty ones can help keep from shearing one. Use anti-sieze on the threads of all bolts when installing new mufflers, this will ensure that the day you need to remove the exhaust, it will go smoothly. Have fun and good luck with the tips!

POST 8Original post

Do the fabspeed mufflers come with installation instructions? I sent them email requesting a copy but they never replied. Anyone knows where we can get an electronic version?
