This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Somebody please help me! I've tried the jumping procedures listed in the manual. Does anyone know of a way to open the hood manually or another way other than what is in the manual?

POST 2Original post

I think there is a manual release located inside the passenger side door at the front hinge. Karl

POST 3Original post

The front trunk release cable is usually behind the right front headlight. Now if you could get to that without opening the hood it would make sense. You might be able to get to it from behind the wheel well liner? I and a number of us have moved the cable to the point behind the front tow hook hole. So in an emergency you just remove the tow hook plug and pull the cable -- don't worry if the car is alarmed it will still go off. If you can't get in because the battery is dead use a charger through the lighter socket to apply just enough power to release the front hood. (BTW... the cable behind the passenger door hinge is the emergency release for the gas filler cap.)
