Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

it is the only mod I would never consider changing back to stock.
Leading evidence: 'Replace back' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace back' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I'm considering installing an RoW M030 on an '03 996 Coupe. I was wondering if anyone has installed this AND had regrets, due to ride height or other issues. Other than the fact that some were not happy with the reduction in ride height, the posts seem to be very positive!
Also, the local dealer is quoting about $800 labor + $200 for an alignment - this seems a little steep based upon other posts.
Do it yourself, a suspension installation is VERY easy. It is pretty much as simple as popping the old parts off and putting the new ones back in the same place. Save yourself 800 dollars to spend on something else.
Might be worth a trip to Houston. The local dealer (Advantage on I-10) charged $800 including alignment last January. Talk to Larry in Service [phone removed]).
Overall I am very satisfied with the RoW 030 upgrade, no regrets. it is the only mod I would never consider changing back to stock.
I know the 993 DIY instructions are posted on p-car.com. Are there any equivalent sources for the 996 to help a DIYer (besides RTFM
)? BTW, I recently ordered the Euro M030 for $971 plus shipping. Anyone beat that?
mb996,
If you want to drive down to Houston for the day, our local DIY crowd could (read Robert H, Danny (DJF1), Matt Vaughn, and myself) could probably get that suspension in for you for about the cost of beer & pizza. We've already done 2 suspension swaps since Jan 1!

I suggest you ride in it before you buy. I installed it on my 02 Cab and don't like it. It does not lower the car much and the ride is much stiffer. In fact, the ride in my Cab, with ROW, is much worse than my 996TT with ROW.
Personally, I'd go with a coilover setup if I had it to do again. If I'm going to put up with a stiff ride, I might as well have a nice ride height.

It is noticeably stiffer, but I've had cars in the past that were as stiff so I don't have a problem with the ride. The thing I was worried about was the ride height being too low. I really don't like driving a car that gets high-middled on a sideways beercan. Luckily, my RoW M030 only dropped the car about .5"
Dranon,
I don't think PCNA approves it for a Cab, however, it is approved in Europe for the 2002 onward cars. They were stiffer than the previous cars...

Agree with the previous positive posts. I had the ROW M030 installed about a year ago and would neve go back. The track performance is really great and road manners are good.
Did mine recently. The handling gain is more than the degradation in the ride, and the increased stiffness seems to compensate somewhat for the reduced ride height--I have been surprised not to have had any new clearance issues despite a somewhat anti-sports car driveway.
That is not to say the original settings are a poor compromise, there is just a bit too much understeer dialed in. The much flatter cornering and better planted front-end would be damned hard to give up.
