Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
The Tech Art and Ruf change the length of the throw by placing a bracket on the tranny lever.
Leading evidence: 'Replace length of the throw by placing a bracket' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace length of the throw by placing a bracket' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. This changes ONLY the front to back distance, not the left to right.

I dont mean Jam, but the shortened shift pattern changes the speed at which the linkages on the side of the tranny have to travel.

For normal street use it feels great and is a blast but for track use I went Ruf to be a little more conservative.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been researching different types of short shifters, and have decided that an undermount type would be best. Ruf and Techart both make these units, while the prices may vary between units, I have found nothing that tells me the units differ. Is there any difference between the two?
Techart=$525
Ruf=$325
Thanks
Personally I dont think either of those, Ruf or TechArt's "undermount" is best.
It may be simpler to install, but I've felt both and they feel rubbery/junky like the stock unit, mainly b/c the stock unit is a plastic piece of crap - how they can put that much plastic on this car is beyond me.
The only way to go to get a solid feel is the B&M shifter, which is a complete unit made from aircraft aluminum. It is a nicely made unit and you wont regret it.
To me the B&M shifter is the way the car should come. I understand that the GT2 comes with a B&M shift as stock.
Am I wrong, can someone tell me?
wow that is a bold statement! j/k I think the main difference between the ruf and techart is the amount of reduction if I am not mistaken. I believe techart has 10/20/30, while the ruf has 30/40/50. I might be off on the techart but I think that's what it is and the other is from ruf's website. I don't know anything about the b & M
The Tech Art and Ruf change the length of the throw by placing a bracket on the tranny lever. This changes ONLY the front to back distance, not the left to right. I have the Ruff, it feels good without that stiff mechanicals of the B&M.
The B&M feels great but I worry about the increased pressure on the tranny. I have boiled brake fluid on occasion, screwing up the clutch engagement.Jamming into gear with a complete short shift can't help the situation
"Jamming into gear"? If the installation is done correctly by marking the cables where they sit in the spring-loaded connectors, you will not need to jam anything into gear. I've had the B&M on two different cars and the shifting is short, sweet and easy. It is still a two-finger shift.

I dont mean Jam, but the shortened shift pattern changes the speed at which the linkages on the side of the tranny have to travel. Shorter throw for you, faster travel into gear for the tranny. Not sure how bad it is, but I can wait 2 tenths longer on a shift, rather than take a chance and damage the car. For normal street use it feels great and is a blast but for track use I went Ruf to be a little more conservative.
