Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Bought my 99 C2 used @ 17K miles P-zeroes had lots of wear left but were so horribly noisy and wanted to tramline I installed Michelins.
Leading evidence: 'Install michelins' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install michelins' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
The front could have lasted a couple of thousand miles more but I replaced all four S03's because 2000 more miles wasn't worth bearing with the toll on handling from difference in wear front vs rear if I only changed the rears.

That's what I'm thinking of replacing the P-Zeros with.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

First original set on my 996:
Rears: 5000 (wheel explosion, had to replace one wheel and two rear tires). Fronts: 14000
Second set, same P-Zeros
Rears: 9000
Original fronts were at 14000 as above
Third set:
Rears: 13500
Fronts: still on at 14000
Still on my first set @ 8800, but need rears badly. Fronts will last thru another set of rears, then am considering something else that lasts a little longer. Don't know what yet.
I've only got 3790 miles on mine, but I can tell that they are wearing faster than any other tire I have ever owned. I don't necessarily mind as the feel, grip and lack of road noise is excellent!
Replaced mine at 8500 miles. Front still had maybe 50%, but rears were gone. Had to buy another set of P=zeros. Wanted Michellin sport cups, but not available in C4S sizes. Thought about P-corsa, but didn't know where to get them at that time

Maybe some one knows better than me this case. <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
I was under the impression that the tread wear on these tires is heavily influenced by the kind of roads one drives on. For example I've heard that everything else equal (e.g. driving style), regular driving on deteriorating asphalt can cost thousands of miles compared to newly paved concrete. Makes sense, but am I really saving that much? I put over 14,000 on a C2; currently at 5000 on the C4.
I know that this has been discussed before, but I'd like fresh feedback. My rears are getting somewhat worn at nearly 10K miles. As usual, the fronts could go another round. On a C4 (like mine), is there an issue, drivetrain-wise, in having "mismatched" tires? Actually, I guess that they're mismatched (in the other direction) right now. The fronts cost less than the rears, so why not change tham all?
mismatched? They are directional tires and will not wear nor handle correctly if they are in the opposite direction I am told. It is always a bad idea to run different tires front to rear because they won't be the same and give equal feel, wear and slip. I have done it in the past when I have bought cars with mismatched f and r and every time I have replaced them with equal front and rear the car was much nicer and more neutral to drive. Better said it was more predictable becuase the tires did the same thing for the most part at the same rates or close too it. Hope that gives you an idea.

My S03's only lasted me 10,000 miles in my C4.

I love them! after the S02's (which lasted less) they are the best tires I ever tried.
On dry, the top 3 are all pretty close (Michelin Pilot Sports, P-Zeros and S03's) but on wet they really shine, its incredible how tires that wide can offer so much grip in wet.
