Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I cannot tell from the limited photos what type of restriction on the seat adjustment is caused by istalling the truss.
Leading evidence: 'istalling the truss' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'istalling the truss' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). Suggestion
It's too bad they can't/don't make that design for the 996; it looks so much nicer than the model you have to use (the one I bought), the R-1030.

Suggestion
It bolts in and out in 10 minutes with 4 bolts if you need to use the back seat.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking at the BK harness truss for the 996 but have a question or two. I cannot tell from the limited photos what type of restriction on the seat adjustment is caused by istalling the truss. Does anyone have one? How tall are you? I am 6'1" and when I look at my seat in its "normal" track position, it will interfere with the bar if it bolts in and occupies the space immediately between the B pillar mounts.
Does anyone have experience with this product? Photos? Any help is appreciated.
Here's a question I can answer! I'm just in the process of installing one. I can, if I want, move my (factory electric) seat all the way back and there is still some clearance. Now, I have my seat back pretty straight up so that might make a difference.
I noticed you called it a BK harness truss. Are you thinking of buying the Brey-Krause R-1025 Harness Truss? If so, I have some bad news. When BK says it will work for Porsche 911, they mean that it will not work for a 996. It's too bad they can't/don't make that design for the 996; it looks so much nicer than the model you have to use (the one I bought), the R-1030.
If you like I tell you the things I've discovered about installing this harness mount bar, as well as installing a 6pt harness.

I don't use mine anymore, so it's for sale if you're interested in saving some $$.
This is the bar that I have used:

John, If I were you I would at least consider going for a rollbar rather than the harness bar. Both take up the back seat. Both are bolt in (DASsport) and the price isn't that different. The rollbar is obviously not as good as a cage but will provide some additional protection in case of a rollover. Just food for thought.

I have the BK harness bar and a six point harness in my 01 996 C4. There is no problem with seat adjustment. It is powder coated black and has an integrated strut tower brace. It bolts in and out in 10 minutes with 4 bolts if you need to use the back seat. I got mine at Foreign Affairs Motorsports. Contact Bob or Bobby at [phone removed]. They will be happy to answer any questions.
I've got one for the O2C2 and it's great. I'm 6'4', and 250 lbs. I can still fit in even with helmet on though there isn't that much head room left! The front to back seat adjustment still fits! It is easy in and out, though I do leave the under seat strap in all summer, only take it out in the winter since that takes the longest to install.
