I disconnected the battery after I was done for 12 hours but the air bag light won't go off

I have done the 3 spoke/4 spoke switch on 3 cars, and removed and replaced the air bag and steering wheel on about other 20 cars to retrofit the trip computer.

Suggestion

You can and remove and replace an air bag with the battery connected - but you must not turn the key to the on postion - but most people need to turn the key on to rotate the wheel to get to both air bag screws.

I installed the leather 3 spoke wheel with the leather air bag today and now my air bag light goes off when i start my car but comes back on 2 seconds later and stays on?

Did you disconnect the battery b/f you removed the yellow connector to the old air bag and did you hook up the connector to the new air bag? You can and remove and replace an air bag with the battery connected - but you must not turn the key to the on postion - but most people need to turn the key on to rotate the wheel to get to both air bag screws. And if that is what happened then you get an air bag light. Jeff

I did not disconect the battery I did turn the key on to rotate the wheel while the air bag was not plugged in the air bag is plugged in I disconnected the battery after I was done for 12 hours but the air bag light won't go off

Not a bad guess. Once the light is on it will not go off by disconnecting the battery. It can only be turned off by the dealer with the PST2. The only thing you can turn off by disconnecting the battery is the check engine light. Jeff

Hi I'd like to add a question... I'm planning on changing my 4 spoke wheel to that same 3-spoke. Is it possible to do that myself or is it like the porschedealer says that there has to be a special resistant switch connected while the airbag is removed??? I belive it should be that tough making that change but I don't want a airbag in my face! /Jari
