JakeMate, I would come up Highway 101 through Santa Barbara and then cut over to Highway 1 to Monterey. I just drove that route last month and it is much more scenic and friendly than Highway 5.

Where ya from ? uh , dude, start at Dukes in Malibu and go along the ocean till the sunsets in Seattle >>> OF COURSE HIGHWAY 1. !!!!! As featured as one of the best roads in the world in the porsche dealer catalog.., email me Ill go too, hit some ***** at Pebble Beach ..... watch for mud slides above big sur this time of year.......
