Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have replaced the fluid with SRF and replaced the lines with SS and of course have bled them (including clutch slave ).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am experiencing a soft brake pedal on my 01 996 with 90 K miles. Brakes work fine there is just a lot of movement in the pedal. I have replaced the fluid with SRF and replaced the lines with SS and of course have bled them (including clutch slave ). Any suggestion on a next step. Master Cylinder, regulator, both or something else. I hate to just throw expensive parts at it hoping I get the correct one. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

I'd try another full bleed before anything else. A Power Bleeder would help a lot. C.

+1 with that. When you replaced the brake lines the fluid in the calipers likely drained, I bet that's where your air is at...speaking from experience.
