Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'use of wrong' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'use of wrong' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace imsb again while its out' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

My engines about ready to go back in unless I decide to change the IMSB again while its out.

At least change the o- rings where the coolant hoses connect

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I would only replace it if it was corroded or if there were too many bent fins and lost it's cooling effectiveness or else I'd just leave well alone. Based on the fact that you're in fl, you can probably rule out the first scenario. Check the fittings and hoses though and make sure they are still in good shape.
Hey awesome. Looks like were doing the same project. My oil cooler looked great so I felt I best leave it alone. There are many other things you can do while its out. Can you post some pics of your project. My engines about ready to go back in unless I decide to change the IMSB again while its out. Watch out because many do not approve of us doing this.

The great thing about this Indy is he invites you
to come into work area and explains the entire
Procedure and you get to look at a dozen race cars
a dozen vintage cars
I got lost looking around the shop and took more pictures of everything except my car
In regards to the oil cooler, much like the AOS
The fail is inside and can not be detected by
exterior appearance
Does your car have the "wrong" coolant in it?
What is this "membrane" you speak of?
I think of oil coolers(at least traditional ones) like radiators where you have end tanks and bunch of liquid passages or channels usually made from metal with fins protruding out of them.
Im sorry, my mistake. For some reason I assumed you had done this yourself. Make sure you look at coolant hoses, vacuum lines, oil sending unit, water pump, chain tensioners, vario cam sol. seals, coil packs, plugs, pulleys, AOS/OVS, oil filler tube, clutch and all related parts/systems, IMSB, RMS, etc. Everything is so easy to get to with the engine out that its a perfect time to do it all. I see he seperated the AC lines instead of removing the comp.
Was the egnine that clean or did someone clean it after drop?
I think that there was one case, where the oilcooler was internally broken and causing intermix?
I replaced mine, when I rebuild my engine. It's less than 200usd part...
