Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone.... Looks like I need to replace all 4 pads and rotors on my 2002 C4 Cab (upset that it wasn't picked up in the PPI ). I was considering looking at some cheaper non-OEM parts since I never plan on tracking the car, and was wondering what others have used or would recommend. I did a search, and it seems like most posts refer to cars that are at least some what tracked. Thanks, Kevin

POST 2Original post

How much cheaper are you looking for? I would not do cheaper than OEM. C'mon man!! They are brakes!!! The place where I get mine are pelican parts. Great OEM quality and great price!! Customer service is excellent as well.

POST 3Original post

Mintex pads and Sebro or Zimmerman rotors are a good cheap road-use setup. OEM brands..

Brakes and tires are too important to have marginalized What are the miles and also braking symptoms on your car ?

+996 and the Mintex "Red Box" pads will exhibit less dust than the OEM but still retain the same cold initial bite. For road cars these are fine but tend to exhibit more fade than some of the other aftermarket pads if using them in track conditions. Zimmermans are nice since they have the grey anti corrosive coating all around to keep them rust free for years.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guess I didn't necessarily mean non-OEM... Just looking for decent road brakes that won't cost a fortune. As for the symptoms....car is not passing state inspection. Rotors have 25mm front and 22mm rear. Pads have about 25% wear left so was going to change them out as well. Car has 50,000 miles on it. Thanks.
