Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

How do you think the car would drive on the street. Do you think the clutch would be easy to use.
Reason being I'm planning to get a GT3 clutch in my 996. Want to know about the driveability on the street.
Thanks
Hi Cameron:
I've driven a GT-3 and they are incredible cars in every respect. Totally awesome.
The clutch pedal pressure is quite reasonable and would not be a burden in city traffic.
I am not sure that the real GT-3 clutch will fit the 996 since these powertrains are totally dissimilar and have nothing in common. There is nothing that I'm aware of that is interchangeable.
FWIW, we are building a GT-3 from a '99 996 that is getting a Factory 380+ HP GT-3 engine, close-ratio GT-3 transmission, GT-3 six-piston/four-piston brakes, Moton Clubsport dampers, 3rd radiator (of course), and all the GT-3 bodywork. This will be OBD-II & street legal.

I don't think you can install the GT3 clutch in the 996.
Steve or Kyopo, you guys got any pics yet of this car you are building? Would love to see them. Kyopo sounds like you are going to have on heck of a street rocket. Are you going to track this car? What is the game plan with the intended uses of the car? Using the crawford wing? Man you are going to be getting some attention in that car. How are you going to keep the db levels on the exhaust note down? One of the greatest things about the GT3 RS is the sound of that motor under acceleration. There really is no other Porsche that puts out a sound like that. How do you keep that but keep it tolerable for a street car?
Steve how much is the third radiator and what benefits would it have for a car with ECU/Exst/cats? The car isn't track driven, but is driven hard occassionally. (how much does the system add to the car in terms of weight) I have really done alot to pull weight from the vehicle. Adding weight uneccessarily doesn't seem very productive
CameronTX:
There is a whole list of parts you need to install the 3rd, center radiator; radiator, mounts, hoses, duct, etc. All this does is add some cooling capacity for times when you are running the car hard in hot weather and the A/C is engaged. This keeps the water temps in line and I simply do not hesitate or consider weight when it comes to things that ensure durability and longevity.

I had a third radiator installed on my 2001 996 C4. I live in FL and I do a lot of driver ed events. It was suggested by the people who handle my track support and the upgrades to my vehicle. If you have questions contact Bob or Bobby at [phone removed].
I put it in for DE events. Car overheated at the track (It was only 105 in the shade). We are going back to Summit Point W.V.right in the middle of the summer so I hope it helps this year.
This is what it looks like and the link to the install directions. BTW, It can't be installed in 6 hours, unless you have done this befor.

I own a GT3 and use it mostly as a daily driver. The cutch is heavy but not too bad, although I would not like to deal with bumper-to-bumper traffic for long periods (I work from home). The clutch is *MUCH* heavier than a standard 996, though.
