Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, One of my lucky, rich friends is taking the plunge and is buying a 200 or 2001 Carrera. He is looking at two. One is a 2000 and thats at the dealer. The other is a 2001 and is private party. I DO NOT know the #'s (cost, milage, etc.) yet, but in general, what sort of issues should I look for when I go with him to look at the cars? Things that would show wear, damage, abuse, etc. Any help is appreciated!!! I am VERY excited!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

POST 2Original post

I'm nooooo Porsche expert, but I've owned nice cars in the Reno/Tahoe area (I have a cabin near Tahoe City). The biggie for me would be whether or not it was stored winters. My wife's first A6 4.2 was pretty chewed up after only two winters use there. Good Luck! DT

POST 3Original post

I own a 2000 C2 cab. The early models still had some RMS (rear main seal) problems. Find out if it has been replaced and make sure to have it looked at (staining on the bottom of the car, pool of oil underneath the car...). If it was replaced, find out if it damaged anything else, like the clutch. Otherwise, I would make sure it has the options he wants. PSM is an option for 2000 C2s, standard on C4. I would make sure to get it - it cannot be added later!
