any help in determining the aprox cost of doing all of the above in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. suggested indie that some of you would recommend would be appreciated.
I have no idea what the cost is in IL but in the east coast, without the shifter, I was quoted between $2600 - 3600, depending on where I went, for the IMS, RMS and clutch replacement/repair.
thx- for the info -hope that someone out there has some info from the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area -was told it may be $2300-2800 in the Milwaukee area.
Marc - Thx -thought about doing the shifter myself but if they are in doing the RMS/IMS/clutch etc - thought I would just let them do the whole thing. nice car my 2001 c4 has the same color combo and aero kit -thx again.
Euroquipe does great work. They are in St. Charles (western suburb of Chicago) and have done work on many of my friends Ferrari's and Porsche's. I believe they quoted me around $4,000 for a clutch, flywheel, RMS and IMS. So without the flywheel it should be around $3,000

Midwest Eurosport in the western chicago burbs had good service and charged me fair prices.
My Porsche dealer in Indiana charged me 1900 with my PCA discount for the clutch, rms, and ims flange.
I also recommend Midwest Eurosport. I am picking up my engine from them next week. A complete rebuild after the cam chain tensioner failed and made it go blamo. (2002 C2 with 54,000 miles). They are VERY knowledgable. Nearly all they do is Porsche. Talk to Brian, the owner. Good guy. Easy to work with.
Oh yeah. They have 2 locations. Bensenville (near the O'Hare), and Joliet (at the Autobahn Country Club)
Both are good. The Joliet location is run by owner George. Also a good guy. They are brothers.

I think my IMSB maybe going. My IMS Guardian starting making a very quiet buzzing noise tonight, and I changed the oil less than 1000 mi ago. It has made the same noise before, but that time I knew it was about time for fresh oil, and after a change, it went away.
I figure it needs to be done at some point, so why risk going any further? Plus my clutch has 83,000 miles on it, so that will likely need to be replaced soon.
I think I like the IMS Solution, but not the part about only a few shops being able to perform change. I did a quick search, and it looks like about $600 one way to Flat 6 Innovations in Georgia. So, it might make more sense to do the ceramic hybrid bearing locally, rather than the Solution.
I try and do everything myself, so I'm not familiar with any of the local shops. I doubt a local dealer would the the IMSB, but I guess it's worth asking.
