Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Again, they said it was a seat belt deal but I dunno, according to the factory service records from the vin, the belts were already replaced once.

If your car does not have an aerokit but has an aftermarket rear spoiler/deck lid then you need to change the wiring harness for the deck lid to the aerokit harness.

I am also going to use my dealer here that I am cool with.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It had had one of the earlier "fixes" which did not work.
HI my car is a 99 and is out of factory warranty. I have the ge warranty but I am told that it does not cover jack and sucks. IN any event, the airbag light is on and the mechanic said that it was because the seatbelt has too high of resistance? This was an issue when the previous owner bought the car before and was fixed in a few minutes. However as the car is out of fact. warranty they are saying that I have to provide paperwork of this fact or they won't do jack. Any ideas? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. OH, Also sometimes when I start the car, the light is on for the rear wing, is that normal? What is that about also? thanks again. If anyone knows where to get the stock owners manual that would be good too as it didn't have one with the car! thanks again.
I had the latest airbag "fix" done for free last year on my then 5 year old Boxster (long out of factory warranty). It had had one of the earlier "fixes" which did not work. No light for a year - knock on wood. Are you taking your car to a factory dealer? Jeff
Send me your email address (privately) and I will send you the TSB for the air bag problem.
If your car has a factory aerokit it is normal for the spoiler light to come on when the car is started and then go out imediately when the car moves (forward or backward). If your car does not have an aerokit but has an aftermarket rear spoiler/deck lid then you need to change the wiring harness for the deck lid to the aerokit harness. Finally, if you have the stock spoiler (and it is down) the light should not come on.
Here's a link to the full story on the airbag light. I was one of the unfortunate FIRST 99 owners with this problem, so it took some work.

Hit the airbag light link, print that page, take to dealer.
That is nice Eric but a new TSB was issued 3 months ago. I have watched it being done on a Boxster. Jeff <img src="http://www.986host.com/albums/ToolPants/air_bag_fix.sized.jpg" alt=" - " />
YOu guys are great, sorry I just got back to check. It has the stock wing/spoiler. I did in fact take it to a dealer. The deal with the spoiler light does go out if I go forward or back. I don't know if it is going up at speed though, which troubles me. I noted the light being on to the dealer when I was there and they said it was no big deal and that it will go out when I go forward or back which it has and did. The airbag light just remains lit all the time. Again, they said it was a seat belt deal but I dunno, according to the factory service records from the vin, the belts were already replaced once. Let me know what you think or suggest.
SPR -- The dealer that fixed the light under warranty will have the record of the repair. That should be enough for the other dealer to refix the problem. If you dont know the dealer, check w/ Porsche NA and get the original dealer and that should get you pretty close.
Yeah that is what I am going to do. I am also going to use my dealer here that I am cool with. Mainly I think the service writer was just being a jerk especially as he did note that the seat belts were replaced, which was one of the initial tsb fixes or "attempts" to fix it in the first place. I don't think that the dealer here will throw a big fit over it especially when I shove the print outs that I was able to "acquire" of the tsb's! Thanks for the info everyone!
