Although it took a long time to figure the problem out, I am pleased to say that Michael took the loss and replaced the coilovers immediately, which weren't even covered under warranty since there wasn't a defect.

Less than a year ago I noticed a knocking sound in the rear suspension. Dan (their mechanic)raised the ride height, lower the drop springs and tried just about everything else that you can imagine. Still the sound of the sway bars hitting the control arm persisted. We realized that it was occurring for two reasons 1)Because of my widebody kit and the Gembella spoiler, excess weight was added to the car in excess to what the H & R coilovers were designed for. Really there was in fact no defect issue in the coilovers themselves, but a weight issue. Dan discussed an option with Michael which was getting into a new set of coilovers. Reason being that the new kits came with two springs for each coilover. One spring was just like the old kit and the other was a stiffer more tightly wound spring. This allowed us to set the ride height higher which eliminated the knock altogether. Although it took a long time to figure the problem out, I am pleased to say that Michael took the loss and replaced the coilovers immediately, which weren't even covered under warranty since there wasn't a defect. To come to a conclusion, I must admit that as shady as I find most car performance shop to be, Michael is a great guy and is always a pleasure to be around. By Design is a great shop with endless toys and gadgets that are a great accompaniment to any fine automobile. All in all I'd recommend them, and most certainly will bring every car I ever own to them aswell. All in good faith people since these are our babies........ *God I sound like an infomercial. If anyone from By Design is watching. I deserve some heavy duty discounts for this one. hahaha
