Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am debating on whether or not to buy a 996 used or new. I have heard that dealers are coming off as much as 10% but I thought I would ask you guys. Any input? Any suggestions on whether I should take the new or used route? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

I'd suggest low mileage (about 5K miles) used. Lots of pcars to choose from these days.

POST 3Original post

I just got back from San Francisco. In the paper, a dealer was advertsing 8% off MSRP on all 2003s, excluding Turbo and C4S. Sonnen had 3 used 996 C4's a few weeks ago, all gone by this weekend. I have a friend that is getting ready to sell his 2001 C4, Black / Black, well optioned with about 13K miles. The car came from Rector in SF, CA. Send me an e-mail if you are intersted in speaking with him. ******Note, I am not a dealer and have no vested interest in selling the car, etc.!
