Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm origonally from Canada. There is only a couple guys on the waiting list for the GT3 in Vancouver. Guess who is already on the list?? Around 95,000 sticker price. In canada it is against the law to mark up a car over sticker.
Hmmm, why so low on the sticker? US sticker for base model has been announced at $99,900, which is about $151,800 Cdn.
Plus don't all Canadian cars come with daytime running lights?
Karl
I believe that the GT3 price point in Canada is far less than 150 CDN.
The reason being Canada has higher taxes...15%, vs the 6% average of most US states.
This way, whether you are buying the car in Canada or the US, you will pay roughly the same after taxes.
eg
go to the Porsche website for Canada they show both US and CDN pricing - and you will find that all the models are 7.5% cheaper in Canada b/c of the tax differences.
After calculating tax for each country, you will find that the take home price of all Porsche models are the same in Canada as in the US...
But..there is an exception...
And that is the GT2. It is 12.5% cheaper in Canada, which means that after taxes the GT2 is slightly cheaper in Canada than the US, for what ever reason.
The price in CDN dollars is 139,000$. Would I be smart to buy more than one so that I can sell it in the US? The sales tax in BC is 17%. The cost of duty to bring car into US is 3% aswell as changing the speedo.
Not sure.
I asked my dealer about selling my C2 in the US, I think used in the US they are getting 65-70US which is $102 CDN.
He mentioned that you may have a problem titling a Canadian car in the US. Dont quote me, but check that out first.
Secondly though, I wouldn't advise doing that. Let someone in Canada have the car. Why inflate the prices for the money mongers who dont care about the GT3 or any "super car" for that matter.
I dont think its fair, and I wouldnt want to be a part of that.
Don't you Texans have enough oil money anyways?...
I'm not a native Texan, but who knows maybe I'll strike oil in my backyard! As for the inflatable prices that CA tends to lend to a hard to get automobile.....I am on the other end of the stick for that one. It's not even that I don't appreciate a great car because I am a junky and appreciate everything from Porsches to old RX-7's. I simply believe that if someone is willing to spend 1000's over sticker to get a car then I guess I'm going to take it.
