This is clearly a scam and if you check his history, he bought the actual lights, then sent me his old ones.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wanted to ask all of you folks' advice out there. I jsut bought a set of smoke headlights from a guy on Ebay, I have been waiting for these for about two weeks, tracking the shipment etc. Then when they showed up, they were the same amber ones that I already have. He was VERY clear in his auction that these were the smoke ones. This is a link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33710&item=1871873506 This is clearly a scam and if you check his history, he bought the actual lights, then sent me his old ones. I wanted to know what the best course of action was at this point and to warn all of you to be careful buying from Ebay. I wrote him an email but I doubt that this will produce any results. Thanks for the help, Ash

POST 2Original post

The seller actually has a perfect selling record so I would be surprised if this wasn't an honest mistake or atleast something that can be easily recified. I would e-mail the seller and explain that you didnt receive what you ordered and what was in the picture. Sounds like you have already done this. If this doesn't yield 'near immediate' results then: 1) leave very negative feedback; 2) contact e-bay using their dispute resolution procedures; and 3) contact your credit card company and ask that the transaction be revieved as fraud. If you paid cash, check, etc, you are out of luck on this front.

POST 3Original post

He's currently got a perfect track record (according to 23 previous sales) I wonder if he simply shipped you the wrong box? Best of luck... Funny thing about e-bay for me reciently. I saw a dozen of Saab's being actioned by someone clearly representing himself as part of a dealership. From the pictures, I recognized that they were from Checkpoint Saab in Buffalo, New York.. So I went to see the cars in person. The cars were very nice, but once they guy realized that I was local (through several e-mails to him) he suddenly didn't want anything to do with me! Makes you wonder...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Update: I called the guy, and he claimed that he sent me the wrong lights. I am not totally convinced to be honest. He said he was going to send me the correct lights and I will send him back the ones he sent now once I recieve the other ones. I am skeptical but will give him a shot. And thanks skymast for the quick response and plan of action. Ashraf
