Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

From looking around the discussions I see a few 996 owners in the past have had the same prob as me with the Porsche radio buttons loosing all their black (paint ?). People who have posted have mentioned this and that the radio was swapped out under warrenty. My 996 is out of warranty and I wondered if anyone had found another solution (maybe a source for spare radio buttons). Any ideas would be great

POST 2Original post

I would pressure your dealer and tell him this is a know problem.

POST 3Original post

My radio buttons also have a problem. They seem to be peeling around the outside of the buttons. Its like there was a plastic sleeve around each button that is splitting and peeling off. Anyone have any trouble with this? -Awolf

POST 4Original post

Yes. This is a known problem. Dealer replaced my radio under warranty.
