Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If you were wanting to go away from Asymmetrico's then change both for the new type...if money no object change all 4, some people would do this anyway but it's a bit drastic !

If you still have good life left in the undamaged tyre on opposite side then only change the damaged tyre ( for same type).

Cut a sidewall going over a pothole last weekend I figured I would replace both rear tires with the same P-zero assimtrico tires that were on all 4 corners.

Suggestion
Just make sure they apply proper torque, a lot of tire shops use only 80lb/ft unless requested otherwise.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Cut a sidewall going over a pothole last weekend I figured I would replace both rear tires with the same P-zero assimtrico tires that were on all 4 corners. Is there a double secret way of having the wheels reshod, spun and balanced that I should know of, or can I just take the car over to the local tire place in town and have it done? This doesn'r require dealer intervention, does it?
Thanks, Loren

Was the tramlining due to an improper set up which I should look out for, or simply because of the stickier rubber? I know this is a problem with wider tires and lower suspensions on rutted roads...
Hi, any normal tyre replacement dealer should handle your tyres, it doesn't need a porsche shop, just make sure you have any locking nut socket to hand for them. The usual rule on tyre types is to keep them the same 'on the same axle' ie left front and right front or left rear and right rear. If you still have good life left in the undamaged tyre on opposite side then only change the damaged tyre ( for same type). If you were wanting to go away from Asymmetrico's then change both for the new type...if money no object change all 4, some people would do this anyway but it's a bit drastic !
On subject of tramlining, I've only experienced this on the front wheels via steering feedback, the car appearing to follow grooves in the tarmac made by heavy truck usage of the road lane. In my case it was always more pronounced in the wet, depended also on tyre pressures ( less at higher pressure) and more pronounced on 18 inch wheels compared to 17 inch. Maybe type of tyre would have an effect too, don't know. HTH
