Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
For example, will they wimp out for DOT reasons and equip the car with the stock interior to avoid any crash test issues?
Leading evidence: 'Test issues' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test issues' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm intrigued by this car.
It has the potential to be another Carrera RS.
So I went in to the dealer to ask a couple of questions. The GM who I normally see was out for the weekend. I asked his two very seasoned employees (10+ years each) a couple questions about the Clubsport version.
They maintained there would only be one version, not CS and Touring models. So my cost and spec for each questions went unanswered.
All their information was based on a 1 page press release from dealer-access PAG website.
There will be two versions, right?
BTW this dealership had three on order, and a couple of possibles.
TIA
Typically, dealer salespersons, even at the top level, haven't a clue as to how to help you "configure" a Porsche.
The exerienced, or truly competent, don't work there anymore.
Why should a dealer pay a competent person to sell Porsches when virtually the same level of sales can be achieved by paying a $100 commission?
Educate yourself and buy over the internet.
No one knows till they get that big thick order code binder thingy, well maybe not so thick for the GT3, from "Headquarters'. My locals say I should be able to sit down w/ them in appx 1-month from now & fill in the blanks!

Let me ask you again --
Please move to Chicago.
We can use you here.
And you won't miss SoCal. It's quite balmy today, only 45 degrees cooler than Santa Y

I'm not sure if I want to do this or not. I know their supply will be limited, so I'd like to learn as much as I can before I get on the list -- and I don't want to jerk them around by ordering and backing out - although this is one car I'm sure they will be able to sell.
M,
I do enjoy Chicago food!
Does it still snow? If you can rid the city of that stuff.....I'm There!!
ps,
I will see if i can get you the "dealer book" sooner!
Mike,
If you don't get on the list you won't get one. I have been told that PCNA wants to limit the production of the GT3 for North America to 450 units. If that's true, that's an average of 3 per dealer. Unless your dealer is huge, he may be sold out already.
The press release is all the info they have let out. Frankly, I'll be stunned if the import a "club sport" version...

It is a top echelon dealership, and I've been responsible for a number of sales for him, so I have a little clout (this is Chicago <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ) I guess I have to decide if I want to do this soon. -- I'm also thinking dedicated club racer. I'd have to sell my '97 Coupe and forego the race car to get the GT3. Is it so wrong to want everything?
Phil
Don't think of it as snow -- I think of it as the icing on that wonderful slice of cake that is life in the Midwest.

There are a number of 2000-2001 GT3 Cup cars for sale right now by pro teams that have 2003 cars on the way. Most of them are in the $90K-$115K range depending on what mods have been done and whether you get a fresh engine or one with some hours on it.
For club racing, these cars are already set up with all the safety and performance equipment you will need. I just bought a 2001 Cup car and will be starting Club Racing with it at Sebring. I decided this was much better economically than trying to upgrade my 1999 996 C2 Coupe to make it competitive.
Send me an e-mail if you want more detail or links to some Cup cars I know of.

Right now no one knows very much. There are many questions that remain unanswered. For example, will they wimp out for DOT reasons and equip the car with the stock interior to avoid any crash test issues? All PCNA has said is that there will be a option to order cermanic brakes. The dealer I am working with thinks that they will build all that they get orders for during a certain window in time. Much more will be know when the ordering info come out.
Hi Karl
Thanks for the alternatives.
From time to time I've toyed with that idea. A 993 or 996 Cup car.
For the dedicated car I've been thinking about the other end of the price range -- a 951/944S2/968 that I could race in F or E, and my son and brother could use in DEs. Not really as big a worry if something breaks. that would give me a garage queen, a driver/autocross car and a racer (Is that so wrong???) (Not to mention a VERY understanding wife)
The GT3, or a Cup car looks like great fun, but I'd have to limit myself to two in good conscience.

That would make sense. PAG is afterall about maximizing profits. That would give me at least a couple weeks to decide. Well that books up my daydreams for a while.

I know your wife, and I don't believe she's that understanding. In any case, I've e-mailed her with the Rennlist site particulars, so that she can effectively monitor your musings on this very important subject.
That's what friends are for.

She's beginning to think I'm devoting way too much time to Rennlist. The time seems to be more a sticking point than what my latest car scheme is. About the GT3 -- probably acceptable to her, in exchange for appropriate baubles and trinkets.
Like I said an "understanding" wife. She understands what they are worth to her.
