Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got my new 03 C4S Saturday evening, and everything is great except there is some wind noise on the passenger side window, that is generated beginning at about 65-70 mph. I took the car over to the Porsche dealer in Dallas this morning for the state inspection, and I had them check it. The tech took the car out to drive it, supposedly changed something, but when I got on the tollway later, I could hear the same wind noise coming from the same area. Has anyone had this problem before? Do you have any suggestions? I have already scheduled another service appointment in Fort Worth at Autobahn Porsche on Friday. I guess until then I can make due with the stereo on, but it really is irritating. Besides that I have no complaints!

POST 2Original post

Maybe you ought to let some1 drive and try to inspect exactly where the noise is coming from.. that would help the dealers coz they would be too lazy to do that. \\W//

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Waz, they do seem to be lazy by and large. I drove to Dallas once again today, and this time took the head mechanic for a drive. Apparently on the rubber seal where the window meets the door there is a little rubber piece that is supposed to be placed up against the rubber to prevent this kind of wind noise. It didn't take him more than five minutes to figure it out, and after I drove him around a few times, everything looks ok now. The little piece of rubber was placed on the seal of the rubber on the driver side door, but apparently they missed the passenger side during production. Now I can say that this car is officially perfect!
