This is not a probability of success.

Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Very new to rennlist and after some help please!
In a few months I hope to be in a position to buy my first Porsche - hopefully a 996 C4. It's unlikely I'll be able to afford to buy new so I'm trying to find out the differences between 996's manufactured in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. I've tried Porsche UK for old catalogues but apparently they don't keep any!
Are there any rennlist aficionados out there who can help?
There are probably many minor technical updates and feature changes but I believe mechanically, engine, trans, suspension are about the same. Of course you have market differences between countries where the car is sold so you have to find info for your country. There are hundreds of books that document the 911 development but finding one on late models may be hard. Paul Frere's " Porsche 911 Story"
is like a text book and the latest addition has great detail on the 996. Look on Amazon.com
Also I think you can buy the Porsche technical manuals from the MY-Porsche.com site that detail changes.
I hope this helps you find the answers to your question.
Porsche publishes a "Technical Book" every year that talks about changes and improvements (in great detail). These are available from some dealers (this list is from My-Porsche.com in the US for US cars). I am pretty sure there are similar books for the RoW versions. Check with a good dealer.
