Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
I guess, as a newbie, I should have used the search function.
Leading evidence: 'Use search function' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use search function' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 996 03 on order with a sports exhaust and I'm confused about the auto cut off feature on the sports exhaust.
Does it only cut off automatically between 25mph-40mph when you have a sports exhaust without the silence button on the console?
This <a href="http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p96089.htm" target="_blank">website</a> appears to sell a manual only kit for the sports exhaust that allows you to open and close the exhaust. The description implies that it gets rid of the auto close and open feature at certain speeds.
Failing that; does anybody know how to disable the cut off feature of the exahaust?
Colm is right, there's a switch that you can use to turn-on and off the sport exhaust. I had it retro-fitted and installed without the vacuum switch, I only had the dealer install the mufflers so it's always on sport
Thanx Loren for that suggestion, worked like a charm <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
I have the sports exhaust option with the dash switch. It seems that it cuts out at certain speeds (30-45) and resumes again. This is with the switch in the off position. I only have a few hundred miles, so I'll wait until a bit longer to see if this goes away.
Try this site for the exhaust: <a href="http://www.e-bydesign.com" target="_blank">http://www.e-bydesign.com</a>
I have a question if someone doesn't mind answering. I have read on the Sports Exhaust option that it cuts out from 30 - 45 MPH, irrespective of whether or not the switch is in the "ON" position. But I have read posts such as JFB's which says that the cutout is no longer a feature in the SE option. So, is there a mid-year change, or are some people mistaken? I guess to ask my question more succintly, what exactly comes with the Sports Exhaust option on a 2003 current production car? Thanks in advance...
I guess, as a newbie, I should have used the search function. Anyway, there's a "hack" that is relatively simple to perform that will bypass the annoying cutoff, and still have the switch operational.
