This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello, I am a strong lurker and occasioal poster on the 993 board.
I think you would be a better audience for this question. My friend is trying to sell his Millennium Edition 996 with 13K miles on it. He is the original owner and has all service records. The highest offer he has is $47,500. I know the car and of course the owner and can attest to the condition, excellent! This seems low in my opinion, but then again, I am not an expert on the 996's. Any thoughts if this is a reasonable offer?
Thank you fellow Rennlisters for your advice/comments!
Anthony
This car is worth about $60k in the wholesale market. Your friend should not have a problem getting $65k privately. Assuming, of course, he can find the right buyer. By the right buyer, I mean one that appreciates that particular model.
I agree with Viken's opinion. But I have a millenium also. It has a ton of options on it; and I get great comments at all Porsche events. The changing paint color is unique.
Skymast...I am not sure he is willing to part with it at this cost, as he turned down an offer already before I posted this question. I will however give him your name and email. When I tried to get your emial, I got an error message:
"Sorry, either the user or the board administrator is blocking access to this email address. "
If you are serious, you can email me at [email removed] and I will forward to him.
I owned #223, with 9000 miles, and sold it last June for $65,000....I had higher offers but they dragged out due to the ability to finance....My car was a Tiptronic, which was relatively rare. The following are some known sales:
32,000 mile for $52,200 (?)
7,000 mile for $63,000 ( a friend )
9,600 mile for $58,000 (on ebay I offered $55,000)
There is a 32,000 mile example on the PCA Mart for $65,000...good luck and others are starting to pop up for sale
In the east wholesale is well below $55,000...as Viken said it takes time and the right buyer to get a fair price.....I personally would buy at $50,000 to $55,000 plus....I think that is fair value....look at it like a 2000 C4 coupe
Remember most of these cars have less than one year's warranty left.....If the car is genuine, your friend should seek around $60,000 in my opinion....I don't see any "collector value" showing up in the market <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
